MARTIAL
MARKSMANSHIP A Fighter's Guide to Close-Quarters
Handgunning
with Andy Stanford and Michael D. Janich
The controversy concerning point shooting versus sighted-fire is
over, and the winner is you. After years of meticulous research,
sighted-fire expert Andy Stanford and point shooting authority Michael
D. Janich have combined their talents to show you not only how point
shooting and sighted-fire can coexist, but how they can be synthesized
to yield a superior, state-of-the-art shooting technique.
The authors first identify the basic skill set that enables shooters
to get shots on target using skeletal and centerline alignment rather
than muscular coordination. They then build upon this foundation,
introducing the concepts of a coarse visual index and finally practical,
combat-effective sighted fire. Throughout the process, they highlight
the effects and dangers of the real-world threats you may face and
teach you the difference between being a shooter, a gunfighter and
a true fighter with a gun. This video includes rare archival footage
and little-known insights into the history of modern combat shooting
and is must viewing for all serious students of combative pistolcraft.
For information purposes only.
Michael D. Janich is one of the foremost modern authorities on
handgun point shooting and one of the few contemporary instructors
to have personally trained with the late close-combat legend Col.
Rex Applegate. In addition to making his own martial arts equipment,
noted martial arts author and instructor Michael Janich has designed
and engineered everything from blowguns to knives, including the
highly acclaimed Masters of Defense Tempest folding knife.
Andy Stanford's training resume includes every major combat shooting
instructor and/or school in the country, plus an extensive background
in both street-oriented martial arts and police defensive tactics.
A noted author of both books and magazine articles and an IDPA Master
Class shooter, he was the Shootist (1st overall) at the 1994 National
Tactical Invitational and 2nd overall in 1998. He is the director
of OPS (Options for Personal Security) in Ridgecrest, California.

HITS COUNT Practical Firearms Training for
Personal Defense
with Louis Awerbuck
When was the last time you were attacked by a piece of paper with
a bull's-eye printed in the center? Most range training has little
relevance for real-life confrontations, when you need every shot
to count. Now, world-renowned firearms instructor Louis Awerbuck
bridges the gap between defensive shooting fantasy and hard-core
reality. Using low-cost targeting systems that actually mimic real-world
tactical situations, he guides both beginning and advanced shooters
through a firearms course designed to shatter commonly held myths
about shot placement, stopping power, shooting on the move and more.
He also reveals the truth about multiple-attacker scenarios, shooting
from behind a barricade, the proper tactical use of cover and concealment,
and little-known aspects of flashlight techniques that can make
the difference between lighting and getting "lit up."
This is a hands-on, live-fire wake-up call that is required viewing
for anyone who owns a gun and wants to know how to use it properly. For

SHOOTING
by J Henry FitzGerald, with forewords by Timothy J Mullin and Kevin
Williams
John Henry ("Fitz") FitzGerald worked for Colt from
1918 till 1944. Shooting, originally published in 1930, was the
culmination of Fitz's work in the firearms field. In it he discusses
his work with law enforcement and the courts, his theories and
practices about practical shooting of the "one hand gun"
and his thoughts about target and exhibition shooting, hunting
and home defense. This was the only book FitzGerald ever wrote,
but his life was clearly dedicated to all aspects of handgun shooting.
While his written work might be unfamiliar to some of you, those
who are reading this work for the first time should be very familiar
with the writings of Elmer Keith, Charles Askins Jr., Ashley Haines
and Chauncey Thomas. All these men were friends of FitzGerald
and thought highly of his methods and approach. After reading
this book, you will feel the same way.
Paladin is pleased to add this long-out-of-print volume by one
of America's most renowned and colorful shooters to its Combat
Classics library. The new forewords by FitzGerald scholars Timothy
J. Mullin and Kevin Williams, as well as the addition of a number
of never-before published photos, shed new light on FitzGerald
the man and the shooter.
John Henry ("Fitz") FitzGerald worked in Colt's firearms
testing department, and in this position he fired 1,000 shots
or more every day for 10 years. By the mid-1930s, he was traveling
30,000 miles each year to give exhibitions, train police departments,
hunt big game and appear as an expert witness in forensic ballistics,
eventually testifying in more than 400 trials. For the premier
shooting competitions of the era, especially the National Matches
held at Camp Perry, Fitz was in charge of the Colt tent, where
shooters came to see the latest offerings from Colt, have their
handguns fixed and hear Fitz regale them with stories.
Timothy J. Mullin is a former infantry officer in the U.S. Army
and deputy U.S. marshall. He is a life-long gun lover and fervent
defender of the Second Amendment. His well-regarded series on
combat weapons also includes volumes on handguns and rifles.

One of the most influential combat shooting books ever published,
Shooting to Live is the product of Capt. W.E. Fairbairn's and Capt.
E.A. Sykes' practical experience with the handgun from their many
close-quarters gunfights while working for the Shanghai Municipal
Police in the 1930s. This expanded edition contains a new foreword
by British World War II combatives expert Phil Mathews, which sheds
new light on the career of E.A. Sykes – the "forgotten
hero" of the Fairbairn-Sykes duo – as well as previously
unpublished photos.
Hundreds of actual incidents provided the basis for Shooting to
Live, the first true instruction manual on life-or-death shootouts
with the pistol. In clear, concise terms, the book teaches the concepts,
considerations and applications of combat pistolcraft. A foreword

their groundbreaking methods into American military training circles
at the height of World War II.
Captain W.E. Fairbairn taught unarmed combat to the famed British
Commandos and the U.S. armed forces during World War II. Before
the war he served as assistant commissioner of the Shanghai Police

IN THE DARK A Complete Guide to the Tactical
Use of Laser Sights
with Clyde Caceres
Although once dismissed as a high-tech novelty, laser sight devices
have proven themselves as one of the most effective handgun accessories
ever developed. By projecting a firing index directly on the target,
lasers enable a shooter to keep his focus where it must be in the
stress of a life-threatening situation. In this Paladin video production,
veteran firearms trainer Clyde Caceres presents a comprehensive
course in the tactical use of laser sights. Caceres shows you how
to integrate the laser into your shooting technique and use it to
naturally overcome the potentially deadly effects of gunfight stress.
He then dispels the myths concerning lasers and teaches you state-of-the-art
methods of laser speed shooting, laser team tactics, shooting from
disadvantaged positions, use of lasers in conjunction with white
light and little-known tips for using lasers as training devices.
If you own a laser-equipped handgun, you can't afford to be without
this video. If you don't own one, watch this video and learn why
you should.

THE
PISTOL AS A WEAPON OF DEFENCE IN THE HOUSE AND ON THE ROAD
with a foreword by Jeff Cooper
Penned in 1875 and recently discovered collecting dust on a library

striking parallels to the thinking and controversy that swirl about

Open it to any given page and you will discover thoroughly modern,
straight-shooting advice on pistol safety, effective shot placement,

carry and much more. Jeff Cooper, the foremost authority on pistolcraft
in America today, considered the book's content from a contemporary
viewpoint in an exclusive foreword for this reprint edition.
This lost treasure is a classic piece of firearm literature that
